I like fantasy books and 18-19th century novels, books about different cultures and religions French Cafe: Favourite thing to eat at a patisserie?

I can’t be sure as I’ve never seen any sort of specific sources discussing ths subject and I’m just deducing this based on my own knowledge of historical fashion, but as far as I can tell they’re most likely based somewhat on mid-19th century headwear.
Clearly the rectangle headdress we think of doesn’t look exactly like these, but it’s similar in the way that Lolita in general took inspiration from historical fashions. If you look at old school Lolita bonnets they’re often more simple than Victorian bonnets and such can also be the same in this case.
